Our most recent event took place at the Hospital, involving military staff running and cycling 3,580 miles – the equivalent distance from Birmingham to Bastion – see more below

Extract from the QEHB Charity news …

Over 3,580 miles and 48 hours later rugby ace Jason Robinson and an elite team of military personnel have completed their unique Bastion2Birmingham endurance challenge.

The team have run and cycled the distance from Camp Bastion in Afghanistan to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham on treadmills and static bikes in the hospital’s main entrance.

Their finish earlier today was marked by the arrival of HRH the Prince of Wales who chatted to them about their challenge before visiting military patients being cared for at the hospital.

Event organiser Sgt Jo Jackson said: “To celebrate the end of our challenge with a Royal visit is the icing on the cake. We’d like to say a huge thank you once again to Jason Robinson, our elite team and our volunteers for all their hard work and commitment.

“The hospital charity provides those added extras that make a huge difference to the lives of military patients and their families. Thank you for your support”
