Graham proves it’s never too late to help others
February 20, 2012
Graham Graham and Jill Bowden raised more than £1000 for the QEHB Charity Cancer Appeal by holding a coffee morning.
Graham, who was 74, sadly lost his own battle with cancer but despite his failing health, he was keen to hand over his cheque in person from his bed at St Mary’s Hospice.
Anne Waller, QEHB Charity Fundraising Officer said: “Graham wanted to let people know that even though the clock was ticking for him, it was never to late to help other people and he was keen to support the Cancer Appeal for as long as he could”.
The Bowdens held the money making event at their Bournville home and Graham boosted funds by crafting – and selling – 100 Christmas reindeer decorations.
Graham is pictured receiving his Certificate of Thanks from Anne.
“The hospital charity provides those added extras that make a huge difference to the lives of military patients and their families. Thank you for your support”
