Congratulations to all the runners who took part in the BUPA Great Birmingham Run
October 22, 2012
A massive “Thank You and Well Done” to all the runners who took part in Sunday’s BUPA Great Birmingham Run.
Over 70 runners ran to raise funds for QEHB Charity, with the total raised currently standing at over £35,000 with money still coming in.
Despite the foggy start to the morning, the day soon brightened up, and the QEHB Charity runners took to the streets of Birmingham with over 18,000 runners.
Supporters were out in strength as well, with a QEHB Charity cheering station at Cadbury’s (which featured on Channel 5’s TV coverage!) as well as a post race reception at the Hyatt Hotel, where runners could have a well deserved cup of tea and a massage once they had crossed the finish line.
QEHB Charity’s chief executive, Mike Hammond, who was taking part in the Great Birmingham Run for the third successive year, said “It has been a great day today, and it was so good to see so many people running in QEHB Charity or Fisher House running tops. It really brings out a sense of camaraderie to know you’re taking part with lots of other people raising funds for the patients at the hospital.”
Entries are already open for next year’s race, which takes part on Sunday 20 October 2013, so if you’ve missed out and would like to join the QEHB Charity team, you can enter now at www.greatrun.org/Events/Event.aspx?id=14
“The hospital charity provides those added extras that make a huge difference to the lives of military patients and their families. Thank you for your support”
