Song raises funds for adrenal tumour research
October 2, 2012
A guitarist has penned a song in memory of his father-in-law. The song, called ‘Legacy’, will raise funds for research into adrenal tumours.
Tim Lai-Smith, whose father-in-law Tuan H. Lai passed away last year, said, “I wrote the track about a year and a half after my father-in-law died suddenly from cancer at the age of 53. I wanted to write a song about his remarkable life for some time but I simply could not express anything that I thought was worthy enough of him.
“This dam broke just recently when my best friend and fellow band member David tragically lost his own father-in-law to cancer almost exactly one year after I lost mine.”
David and his family are also raising money for adrenal tumour research in memory of Alan, who died earlier this year at the age of 49. Their justgiving page tells their story – www.justgiving.com/alan1inamillion
Tim continues, “My hope it that anyone that has lost a loved one will relate to the song and find comfort in the fact that the person’s legacy is left behind as a reminder for us all to live a brilliant future. David and I and our wives want to see more research into adrenal tumours and cancer so that others can be spared the tragic loss that we are still recovering from.”
‘Legacy’ will be available from all major download sites from Monday 22 October 2012. The money donated will go to QEHB Charity, the official hospital charity of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, to fund research into adrenal tumours.

“The hospital charity provides those added extras that make a huge difference to the lives of military patients and their families. Thank you for your support”
